Newborn children through the age of 12 months will follow their own sleeping and eating schedule. The remaining time will be spent with their care giver enjoying toys, songs, books and lots of special attention. Each day, parents are provided with an individual written daily report with specifics about their child's day.
The children in this program are beginning to be more independent as they learn self-help skills. Balanced with eating and napping, is plenty of time for learning, either on their own, with friends or with their teachers. Puzzles, table-top toys, blocks, art, dramatic play, music and story time are all part of a very active day. Each day, parents are provided with an individual written daily report with specifics about their child's day.
This program is designed for pre-kindergarten children between the ages of 3 and 5. Children will spend their time learning and sharing side-by-side with others in their age group. Basic skills are taught and reinforced through games, projects and classroom learning equipment. The school day includes circle time, peer and individual learning, nap or rest time, story time, outdoor activities throughout the day, learning stations, teacher-led instruction and afternoon projects. There is a daily parent note posted in the classroom that lets parents know about their child's day.
This program is specifically designed for the child whose parent(s) work longer than the normal school day. This care is available before and after school and all day during the summer months, on snow days and school holidays. Focused on the development of children in Kindergarten through 12 years of age. During the school year a time for completing homework is provided. Other activities include center time, outdoor play and hands-on projects. During the summer months, snow days and school holidays, children are welcome to enjoy a variety of activities on a full-day basis.
(Hours 9:00 a.m. until noon) This program is designed for pre-kindergarten children (ages 3-5) to build friendships and learn pre-kindergarten skills. Attendance can be scheduled for 2, 3 or 5 days a week. Children will spend time learning and sharing side-by-side with others in their age group. The morning includes circle time, center time, story time, outdoor activities and teacher-led instruction. Classes follow the school district calendar. Fee is based on the number of days attending.
This is your child care solution for appointments, shopping or anything unexpected. Children from the age of 6 weeks to 12 years may attend. Care is normally available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Open spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Calls to schedule care should be made the day before the care is required, or no later than 7:30 a.m. on the day service is needed. The Moscow Center is home to our Resource Center. Information on child development, parenting, prenatal care and other related topics are available. Parents from any of our centers are welcome to request any of our books, tapes or filmstrips by contacting their Center Director.
This program is designed for children who have special needs. Children in this program can receive individual lessons, speech therapy, physical and/or occupational therapy support through arrangements with early intervention services. Resources and referrals for the family are also available.
Referrals to social service agencies are available upon request. We also make referrals when we cannot provide a service.
North Pocono Preschool, Inc. maintains an open door policy through which parents are welcome to come to the center at any time without prior notice. It may even be a work day to help make improvements.
Because the care and education of children is so important, we encourage parents to meet with us during parent conference opportunities. This is time to talk one-on-one with us about their child's development as well as any concerns that they may have.
Parent Meetings are an opportunity to interact with other parents, North Pocono Preschool staff and other community members. Meetings can be an activity such as a Parent Brunch or family Ice Cream Social. It may even be a work day to help make improvements.
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are included in the cost of tuition and are served at regularly scheduled times. Children learn basic nutrition and healthy eating habits through participation in our nutrition program. Proper meal time behaviors and table manners are emphasized at meals and snack times.
